I think that I was always meant to be vegan. I became a vegetarian in 1983, but continued to eat dairy and eggs (lacto-ovo vegetarian). Then I had an "AHA" moment in 2007 and so began my vegan journey. My newfound quest was not only creating original vegan recipes but also taking on the challenge of veganifying all of my favorite recipes that contained dairy, eggs, and meat. Over time I had amassed an extensive collection of my own unique recipes, as well as recipes from family and friends. I used these as inspiration to create veganified versions.
