Your Dieting Daughter is a must read for anyone wanting to help contribute to a young woman’s development of a healthy self and body esteem, whether she is 13 or 30. Costin has updated the first edition of this book to reflect her 15 additional years of expertise on dealing with the tricky issues of body image, food, and weight in a culture that places an unhealthy emphasis on being thin. From aiding a young girl to lose weight for health reasons; to encouraging a young woman to accept her natural body size; to helping detect, prevent, and understand eating disorders, this second edition is full of practical and invaluable information. Chapters guide parents in the Do’s and Don’ts that will help a daughter to accept, respect, and care for her body. Readers will learn the importance of setting a good example and the critical need to take the focus from numbers and measurements - such as scale weight, clothing size, miles run, or sit-ups accomplished - to important goals like health, body acceptance, and finding physical activity to enjoy. Whether you are interested in being a good role model for you daughter, helping girls and women who are currently suffering from an eating disorder or body image issues, or raising the next generation of girls to value the size of their heart over their body size, this is a book not to be missed.

There are already hundreds of thousands of cybersecurity professionals and according to some sources, there is a shortage of several more hundreds of thousands. Tribe of Hackers wants to change that. We asked for industry, career, and personal advice from 70 cybersecurity luminaries who are ready to break down barriers and shatter ceilings. It's about time. This book can be a catalyst for change for anyone, from beginners trying to enter the industry, to practitioners looking to start their own firms. What tips do the founders of Dragos, Inc. and Duo Security have on starting a company? Do you need a college degree or certification to be a cybersecurity professional? What is the biggest bang-for-the-buck action your organization can take to improve its cybersecurity posture? What "life hacks" do real hackers use to make their own lives easier? What resources can women in cybersecurity utilize to maximize their potential? All proceeds from the book will go toward charities in Threatcare Gives.. We can't wait to show you the most epic cybersecurity thought leadership collaborative effort, ever. From the Author: My mind is in a very peaceful and reflective mood. I'm nearing the end of my first time away from work in at least three years, most of which has been a blur as I founded my own cybersecurity firm. I've learned a lot about venture capital, investors, and mentors--as well as what it takes to build a company from just an idea. It's been an amazing journey. My reputation as a white hat hacker gave me the credibility to get this far, and we're just getting started. I believe in giving as I go. In other words, instead of waiting until I "make it" to give back to others, I have been trying to mentor everyone I come across along the way. I have always been the type to want to help others, so I mean it when I say you're welcome to email or meet me for guidance about anything. I will always try my best to help. Over the last year, I've listened to hundreds of hours of audiobooks while going to and from work and while walking the dogs. One of the books that really impressed me was Tribe of Mentors by Timothy Ferriss, and it stands as the inspiration for this book's concept. I highly recommend this thought-provoking read on life and business, especially if you're a fan of entrepreneurship. In his book, Ferriss asked his impressive network eleven questions, and then the magic just happens. For me, this immediately sparked the idea that there should be a cybersecurity version of the book. So, I compiled the most common questions people ask me about cybersecurity and narrowed it down to 14 questions. The questions initially start with views of cybersecurity at-large and then become more personal. I noticed that when I have conversations at conferences, this is the normal flow. We call these types of conversations "hallway-con," because some of the best learning happens between the scheduled talks and events. After compiling the questions, I started reaching out to my network of friends and colleagues in the industry and asked them to be a part of this book. I was humbled by the response. In total, we ended up with 70 inspiring interviews with notable hackers. A quick note: We edited every interview to improve flow and readability, and in some cases, this meant abbreviating answers or deleting non-responses. We also included contact information at the end of each bio indicating where you can find each hacker on the web and/or on social media. We're an engaged and tight-knit group, and we hope you'll join us. Creating this book has been an amazing journey, and I hope the answers to these questions help guide you along your path. Marcus J. Carey

For far too long we’ve neglected the urban mission field. Many churches have moved to the outskirts of the city for various reasons, and the urban landscape appears to be forgotten. Dr. René Rochester presents a vision for how communities can change this pattern and plant redemptive and sustainable urban ministries. Models, Mentors, and Messages takes a close look at the developmental stages of Jesus’ life, focusing on how family, his heavenly Father, the Jewish community, and neighboring nations were used to shape his holy destiny. Through the example of Jesus’ life, you will learn how to draw on your own formative years to show urban teens how to live out God’s call in their communities. The most authentic models are individuals who have wrestled through life’s challenges and learned to trust God in difficult situations, and so by empowering urban students today and showing them how to nurture one another in faith, you can help create sustainable ministries in which each generation will model for the next how to follow Jesus. The first of its kind, this book doesn’t try to force old models on the urban context, but rather teaches new ways to draw on Jesus’ teachings to help an urban, hip-hop generation live for Jesus and for one another.

Whether people want to play games and download music, engage in social networking and professional collaboration, or view pornography and incite terror, the Internet provides myriad opportunities for people who share common interests to find each other. The contributors to this book argue that these self-selected online groups are best understood as tribes, with many of the same ramifications, both positive and negative, that tribalism has in the non-cyber world. In Electronic Tribes, the authors of sixteen competitively selected essays provide an up-to-the-minute look at the social uses and occasional abuses of online communication in the new media era. They explore many current Internet subcultures, including,, massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs) such as World of Warcraft, music downloading, white supremacist and other counterculture groups, and Nigerian e-mail scams. Their research raises compelling questions and some remarkable answers about the real-life social consequences of participating in electronic tribes. Collectively, the contributors to this book capture a profound shift in the way people connect, as communities formed by geographical proximity are giving way to communities—both online and offline—formed around ideas.
