Some of us fear moments when we need to defend our theology. Some of us seek them out. But we are seldom ready the way Jesus seemed to be ready. So how do we draw others to God in the midst of these ordinary conversations the way Jesus did? In Speaking of Jesus, Carl Medearis draws on his experience of international reconciliation between Muslims and Christians to remind us of the heart of the matter: Jesus. Here he gives us tools, stories, and the foundation we need to move beyond “us” and “them” and simply talk about the One who changes it all. As Carl writes, “While others are explaining and defending various isms and ologies we’re simply pointing people to our friend. The one who uncovers and disarms. Who leads people right to himself. The beginning and the end of the story. A good story indeed.”

In a diverse society where tolerance is preached and practiced as the highest of cultural values, it's tough for teenagers to find "acceptable" ways to share their faith. In fact, "Christianity" is now one of the more polarizing words in the Western world--followers of Jesus are known far more for what we're against than what we're for. And that makes it extra hard for students to engage their friends and classmates in conversations about the most important thing in their life. What we are for is a person--his name is Jesus. And Jesus is not only our salvation, but the most compelling person who's ever walked the earth. But that epic truth is overshadowed by the distractions surrounding Christianity's "public face"--it's been turned into a political/social/moral word, not a simple description of Christ-followers. In the student edition of his bestselling book Speaking of Jesus, author Carl Medearis maps out a path that will forever change the way teenagers think about "sharing my faith." Using strategies and ideas gleaned from his decades of experience as a missionary in the Middle East, Carl will give students a new vocabulary and a new way of engaging the people in their life--they will discover the freedom "speaking of Jesus" brings, flavoring all their interactions with his compelling prese

The gospel really is the best news anyone will ever receive. So why do Christians shy away from talking about Jesus outside of church? And, when they do speak of Jesus, why do they often get a disinterested or scornful reponse? Mack Stiles offers a wealth of answers, ideas and stories in this heads-up, hands-on evangelism handbook. His creative strategies for reaching an ethnically, culturally, economically, educationally, geographically and ideologically diverse world with the best news ever are drawn directly from his own work as an evangelist in today's student world. In Speaking of Jesus he shows readers how to keep their eyes open for "divine appointments," how to approach others with a servant spirit, how to cross relational barriers, how to simply tell one's own story of faith, and how to answer questions with honesty and confidence. Speaking of Jesus may well be an Out of the Saltshaker for the 1990s and beyond. With contagious enthusiasm, Stiles stresses that evangelism isn't about exhibiting superhuman courage or perfecting specialized techniques or exercising extraordinary gifts. Instead, he shows that people of faith can use everyday situations and everyday language to pass on the simple--and simply wonderful--news about Jesus.

Where do we get food to nourish our souls? Gods living word, the Holy Bible is our daily bread. If we want to be spiritually healthy, we should read and soak up his words. They are His living words and also provide us protection. As we read and put on His whole armor before heading out each day--we armor up, helping to keep us spiritually prepared for whatever the day holds. Has God ever put something on your heart, something that you know you should be doing? For me, although I'm finished with this devotional, this is the beginning of my new life's journey of letting his words in verses and text from the bible pour into my spirit. There is really something to the power found within his words. I have experienced a new peace in my life, so thankful am I for this journey. Spending time with the Lord and reading through verses and writing each day has made a difference in my life and I can say, I'm better for it. I hope whoever you are, if this finds its way to you, it will help create in you a thirst for our Father, our Savior, our Lord, Jesus Christ. And I pray whenever he speaks, whatever he speaks to your heart that you would be able to hear his words with clarity and walk on his paths of truth for your life. Every good and perfect gift comes from the Lord.

The title of this book is a play on the United Church of Christ’s “God Is Still Speaking” marketing campaign. I have sifted through two decades of sermon writing, which were primarily focused on the Gospels, to see how Mark’s Gospel portrays the still speaking voice of Jesus. The essays in this book work with some of Jesus’ most provocative words as related through the pen of Mark. But what meaning do these words carry in our world today? Are they practical and relevant for us? Is Jesus still speaking to us ... through the Gospel of Mark?

Almost 40 years ago John and Elizabeth Sherill introduced the world to the phenomenon of 'speaking in tongues' in their book, They Speak with Other Tongues. The book was an immediate success as thousands were touched by the power of this spiritual gift. The Hidden Power of Speaking in Tongues again explores this spiritual experience powerfully prevalent in the early church. This much maligned and controversial gift was a practical part of their worship and intercession and seeks to be rediscovered in our day. In a day of spiritual poverty, Chavda challenges the Body of Christ to experience afresh the secret dynamic of 'speaking in tongues', as he removes the veil covering this glorious gift.

As with French, German or Spanish, learning the basic vocabulary of Christianity is a vital first step in understanding what it means and how it works. We think of words like 'faith', 'forgiveness', 'salvation', 'sin' and 'heaven'. But how can we be sure that we understand them correctly? Over the centuries all sorts of different meanings have grown up around these words, and sometimes those meanings can obscure or distort the way the words were originally used in the Bible. In Speaking Christian, Marcus Borg takes some of the key words in the Christian dictionary and exposes the negative and unhelpful connotations they still carry today. At the same time, he goes back to the Bible and unpacks their meaning in a way that is both more faithful to the teaching of Jesus and more relevant to his followers today.

Jesus still exists and is and has always been available to those who are open to him. In this channeled book, Jesus speaks to us from another dimension to awaken Christ Consciousness within us. Christ Consciousness refers to enlightenment or the realization of our oneness with all and our inherent divinity, exemplified by Jesus Christ. Jesus lived what he taught, and he taught from a higher consciousness, one free of ego. Jesus was an example of what we all can be, a model of what is possible for every human being, and the messages in this book show us how we can become more Christ-like and live as he did. These messages are also intended to give you the experience of having a relationship with Jesus, as he speaks to you as if you were sitting in his presence. The channeled messages from Jesus, which this book is based on, were part of weekly online video meetings, where Gina Lake and her husband, who is also a nondual spiritual teacher, give what they call Christ Consciousness energy transmissions. The channeled messages from Jesus were given before the transmission to prepare, teach, and inspire those who are there to receive the transmission. Many report feeling a transmission come through these channeled messages as well.

Many think evangelism is rooted in a method. It is rooted in something much deeper. It is found in what makes us whole and healthy messengers of God's truth about Jesus. Mack Stiles has lived the life of the healthy evangelist in homes and coffee shops, at universities and farms. He has lived out and spoken about the gospel to Kenyans, Koreans, Arabs and North Americans. What he has learned around the world and at home is summarized here in a few basic truths that can shape any of us into faithful people who bring good news to needy and hurting friends. The whole gospel changes much more than our relationship with God. Stiles shows how it changes all of who we are and what we do. It means learning the whole gospel without shaping its message to meet our tastes. It means not just going through the motions of accepted behaviors. It means showing the unity of witness and justice. It means love. It means community. Join Mack Stiles in a life-giving adventure of boldly knowing, living and speaking the gospel.

Jesus still exists and is and has always been available to those who are devoted to him. This book is Jesus speaking from another dimension today. His message, as channeled through Gina Lake, is meant to bring you into greater alignment with the Christ within you, with Christ Consciousness. It is also intended to give you the experience of having a relationship with the wise and gentle being we've known as Jesus the Christ, as he speaks to you as if you were sitting in his presence. In it, you will discover how to become the loving, strong, and peaceful being you are meant to be, which Jesus exemplified. By doing a few simple things and shifting your perspective in small ways, which are explained in each of the chapters, you can become a lover of life.Note from the author: This book, given to me by Jesus, is intended to serve a slightly different purpose than the other books I've been given from Jesus. Unlike those books, this one was created by speaking into a recorder and then transcribing those words. Consequently, it reads a little differently than the books that were intended as written works. The audio version of this book, of me channeling these words, is also available. The print book has been edited for clarity, but the tone of the audiobook has been retained. From the Introduction: "I am the one you have known as Jesus the Christ. I am speaking to you now through this channel to help you to know of my presence and to feel my presence in your life more fully. I want you to know that I exist here, in another dimension, that I am eternally present and continue to be the servant for all that is good, and that you-like me-are also eternal and will continue to exist once you leave this temporary body. You are so much more than you realize. I was but an example of what you are capable of as a human being. But in essence, you, like me, are much more than a human being. You are an eternal being. My intention in speaking to you through this book is to help you realize your true nature and to live as the best human being you can be. The challenges are great in the human body, but you can overcome them and become the loving and strong being you are meant to be. By making a practice of doing just a few things, you can become more aligned with your own divinity, with the goodness within you. In this book, I have laid out some of those things. These simple practices and understandings will help you be happy, more loving, and more at peace. These are the signs that you have arrived Home. You are meant to be happy, loving, and at peace. Allow me to be your guide Home. It is my deepest honor to serve you in this way, for in doing so, I am serving the Whole and giving glory to the Father, who has created all of life.""Gina's communion with Jesus has brought forth another jewel of truth. This time rather than just reading Jesus's words, you are invited to experience them and Him directly. Through Gina's voice, Jesus answers so many questions that have rumbled around the hearts and minds of all of us. Jesus is honest, direct, and sometimes blunt. Truth often is. Jesus speaks not only of truth in the highest expressions of the spiritual, but also in ways that are simple, practical, and useful in our daily lives. If you choose to buy this audiobook Falling in Love with Life, you will be gifting yourself a direct pathway out of confusion, frustration, and aloneness into an eternal Union that is an ongoing celebration of the Mystery of Life itself." -John Mark Stroud, Founder of One Who Wakes

Jesus still exists and is and has always been available to those who are devoted to him. This book is Jesus speaking from another dimension today through Gina Lake, who is the scribe for his words. It is meant to help you overcome fear and give you the experience of having a relationship with the wise and gentle being we've known as Jesus the Christ, as he speaks to you as if you were sitting in his presence. In the Introduction, Jesus explains: "To be free from fear requires that you see the truth about fear: that it is an illusion. It isn't real. Merely seeing this is, itself, freeing. Fear keeps you imprisoned in the ego's world, which is one of lack and insecurity and every possible negative emotion. Fear shapes most people's lives, which is why so many are unhappy, since fear and happiness and fear and love cannot coexist. Fear blocks love. It is the enemy of love and therefore the enemy of happiness. So ultimately, this audiobook and book is about happiness and love: how to be happy and loving, which is to say how to be the person you are meant to be, how to be your best self. Fear doesn't make anyone a better person. It doesn't even keep people safe. How can an illusion, a lie, keep you safe? But the truth can and will." That is what you will find here-the truth about fear, along with practical advice and methods for working with fear and overcoming specific fears, such as the fear of failure, poverty, death, loss, illness, aging, and not being loved.
