To determine the feasibility of applying this strategy as a method of preventing cell migration in vivo, the delivery of polymer agents to the female reproductive tract was modeled using two different dosing strategies, bolus dosing and controlled-release. While bolus dosing has a short half-life in vivo, controlled release using vaginal disks was found to deliver an effective dose to the reproductive tract for at least several months.
