WHO - OR WHAT - WAS THE REAL LOVE OF FREDDIE MERCURY'S LIFE? Millions of Queen and screen fans who watched the Oscar-winning film Bohemian Rhapsody believe that Mary Austin, the woman he could never quite let go of, was the love of Freddie Mercury's life. But the truth is infinitely more complicated. Best-selling biographer and music writer Lesley-Ann Jones explores the charismatic frontman's romantic encounters, from his boarding school years in Panchgani, India to his tragic, final, bed-ridden days in his magnificent London mansion. She reveals why none of his love interests ever perfected the art of being Freddie's life partner. In Love of My Life, the author follows him through his obsessions with former shop girl Mary, German actress Barbara Valentin and Irish-born barber boyfriend Jim Hutton. She explores his adoration of globally fêted Spanish soprano Montserrat Caballé. She delves into his intimate friendship with Elton John, and probes his imperishable bonds with his fellow band members. She deconstructs his complicated relationship with the 'food of love' - his music - and examines closely his voracious appetite for - what some would call his fatal addiction to - sex. Which of these was the real love of Freddie Mercury's life? Was any of them? Drawing on personal interviews and first-hand encounters, this moving book brings to the fore a host of Freddie's lesser-known loves, weaving them in and out of the passions that consumed him. The result, a mesmerising portrait of a legendary rock star, is unputdownable. Love of My Life, published during the year of the 30th anniversary of his death and that would have seen his 75th birthday, is Lesley-Ann's personal and compassionate tribute to an artist she has revered for as long as she has written about music and musicians.

A punch in the face of the puritanism and conservatism he raged against, My Life and Loves is the highly-charged, erotic autobiography of Frank Harris (1856-1931), an Irish writer and editor who founded Pearson's Magazine in the United States (1914-1918). When first published, the book elicited hostile criticism because of its blunt and frank detail of Harris's sexual exploits, beginning in his childhood. A biographer of Oscar Wilde and Shakespeare, Harris fought the U.S. government and postal service over the content of his publications - battles included in My Life and Loves along with Harris's blunt, colorful depictions of his sexual exploits with willing Victorian Age debutantes. My Life and Loves remains a landmark in erotic literature, as relevant and provocative today as it was when first privately printed in Paris.

My Life and Loves in Greenwich Village

When the poet Maxwell Bodenheim and his common-law wife, Ruth Fagan, were found brutally murdered by the insane man whose single room they were sharing, the press made much of the sensation. Persons safely distant from Bodenheim’s bitter struggle for existence, who thought of him merely as a drunken shambles, felt, somewhat smugly, he had met a suitable end. But Bodenheim’s funeral was richly attended by poets and artists who know better. They knew that to the last minute of his precarious life Bodenheim was a working writer and a productive poet, though he often had no place but a doorstep to lay his head. They came with tears instead of flowers to say goodbye. Alfred Kreymbourg read an eloquent tribute to Max’s undying sense of the beauty of life. Maxwell Bodenheim knew Greenwich Village as no one else did, because he was Greenwich Village. Its waywardness, its dreams, its love life, were his to cherish. These memoirs are filled with irony, with compassion, with love, laughter and unquenchable dignity. He had intended to write a summing-up, but death, most grotesquely, intervened. The publishers are proud to present Maxwell Bodenheim’s last and most fascinating work.

"Had he not been a thundering liar, Frank Harris would have been a great autobiographer."Time Magazine, 1960"My Life and Loves" is the autobiography of the Ireland-born, naturalized-American writer and editor Frank Harris (1856-1931). The work gives a graphic account of Harris's sexual adventures and relates gossip about the sexual activities of celebrities of his day. Well-known and infamous for its straightforward graphical, enthusiastically pornographic description of sexual encounters, "My Life and Loves" resembles crazy, weird boys' adventure story, going from a boarding school setting to the Wild West. The work was banned in both the United States and Britain for a span of 40 years.

Girodias gave the task of producing something publishable from them to Alexander Trocchi, and described the result as having only 20% of its content derived from the nominal source material. This material became the fifth and final volume of "My Life and Loves".

This narration of a life experience and the deep love shared with two special canines of the wolf persuasion comes from the heart. In sharing the story, the author hopes to connect with those who have known the amazing relationship that humans can have with animals of another species, and also awaken others to both appreciate and respect the uncanny sensitivity and intelligence that other species do possess. People would often ask me with a startled look on their face, “You mean you have real wolves?” I would simply say, “Actually they have me.” ALWAYS, I WAS AWAKENED BY THE GIFT OF A SONG • • • I LEARNED TO PLAY AGAIN LIKE A HAPPY CHILD UNINHIBITED, CAREFREE • • • THEY WERE IN THEIR ELEMENT RUNNING, PLAYING BUT MOST OF ALL, THERE WAS THE DANCE.... ON A CRYSTAL DAY, I CAN STILL SEE THEM • • • AND SO, YOU GO AS WITH THE TRAIL OF SMOKE WHISPERING FROM THE CANDLE AS IT GOES OUT WITH THE LIGHT AND LOVES OF MY LIFE “I look forward to holding it (the book) in my hands, and through the book for others to know and love these two great hearted beings.” —Susana Andrews
