Special Agent for the U.S. Department of Fish and Wildlife Services, Tracey Whittington, takes down wildlife traffickers and more, but what she doesn't expect is to be in a shootout, multiple times, when the business turns deadly. Nor does she suspect she'll be working with Hal Haverton, who serves as a part-time deputy for Yuma Town, Colorado, and runs his own horse ranch. As long as he doesn't stop her investigative work—she has been placed on administrative leave due to the last shootout—she'll be just fine. Hal Haverton has every intention of keeping the wild cat safe, even if it means helping her to solve the case when every time he turns around, she's involved in another shootout. When her boss asks their good friend, the sheriff, to have one of his deputies serve as a bodyguard for the cougar shifter, Hal's all for it. So is the other deputy, but Hal's got this covered. Even if getting somewhere with the lady means having his gun ready at all times. There are definite perks to getting to know the Special Agent better—if they live long enough to do something about it.

A Toddler s Life

What sets humans apart from other social animals? In an intimate account of child's development from age one to three, distinguished psychologist Marilyn Shatz answers this question by arguing that humans are unique in their ability to reflect on themselves, to compare themselves to others, and to self-correct. Language plays a central role in such processes because it offers the developing child a powerful tool for going beyond immediate experience to an understanding of unobservable states and motivations. In addition to her two decades of research in developmental psychology, Shatz draws on observations of her grandson Ricky to show how toddlers use their cognitive, social, and linguistic skills to understand and eventually to employ language as a means for successfully engaging others. Shatz expertly brings the dialogue of the toddler to life, plotting the turning points in Ricky's progress from fifteen-month-old one-word speaker to three-year-old articulate preschooler. The story of a child's increasingly sophisticated involvement with an expanding world is here generalized to other young children and skillfully interwoven with both empirical research and insightful commentary about the nature of human learning in a social setting. Parents, teachers, researchers, and students of developmental psychology and psycholinguistics will find this book to be an interesting and engaging study of early developmental processes.

This story is about a young black man, who grew up in Compton California, that over-came the tragedy of being shot, not once but twice. And then all the difficulties that came after, all while surviving the relentless 70s, before the age of 18 years old. Question: What makes my book different then any other book out there? Answer: only difference is that it's my story. I'm no different then you or anyone else out there, we all have a story to tell, a purpose in life. And after reading my book I would hope that you would be encouraged to tell your story and fulfill your purpose. That being said, my book is raw, It's not sugarcoated, It's not watered-down, it tells the true story of how my life was. It talks about; Joy and pain, happiness and sadness, sex, drugs and abstinence, love and hate, carriage and fear, strength and weakness, being honest and dishonest, being helpless and overcoming obstacles, having faith and doubting, loss and gain, laughter and sorrow. It's not too long and it's not too short, it gets right to the point.
