Gabi Bloom doesn't believe in signs. She believes in photographic evidence, the view through her camera lens, and the snap of the shutter. It's why she traveled to Europe—to satisfy her wanderlust and to kick off her photography career. But in Ireland, all of that changed when Gabi gazed into the impossibly blue eyes of an American bartender. She wasn’t prepared for their intense and immediate attraction, or the fact that she’d be bringing Ethan home with her . . . as her fiancé. Gabi's upcoming marriage is the cherry on top of her mother's current predicament. Stumbling toward forty, Alissa is a pastry chef who raised her daughter single-handedly while Gabi’s father traveled the globe. Now her baby girl is getting married after a whirlwind romance and Alissa—well, Alissa is pregnant. Again. And not only is her ex the father, he wants her back. For good. Until she can figure out that part of the puzzle, Alissa is hiding her big little secret even as she helps Gabi plan a happily-ever-after wedding. But somewhere between disaster and hope, life might just bloom in a way that is breathtakingly unexpected . . .

French Phrases Vol.1: English & French THIS EDITION: French Phrases seeks to bridge the gap between knowing individual words and knowing how to create or understand sentences. Sentences are phrases or a combination of phrases, and phrases are a combination of words. The simplest phrases are the simplest ways of combining words. Exposure to a wide variety of phrases, especially in increasing complexity, provides the basis for obtaining a solid grasp of a new language. The reason being, phrases can be combined with other phrases to create endless possibilities in language. French Phrases contains a wide variety of phrases, but it also demonstrates how phrases can increase in complexity – through the inclusion of individual words or other phrases. The reader can choose between four formats: Section 1: English to French Section 2: French to English Section 3: English Section 4: French The text can be used to obtain a fundamental grasp of French grammar. An understanding of the rules that underpin the way words combine into phrases, or phrases combine into sentences, allows the language learner to expand their capacity exponentially simply by increasing vocabulary. With this in mind, the text includes an introductory section summarising the important aspects of French grammar. The dual-language text has been arranged for quick and easy cross-referencing. The text can be used on its own. However, the content is ideal for reinforcing and expanding on a basic grasp of the language. With an increasingly robust grasp of the language, the language learner can easily and fruitfully move on to more advanced bilingual text — like in 2Language Books editions —, or suitable French only text: a simple novel, a French news website, etc. Many basic language books offer some form of audio support. Internet services — primarily news based radio stations — offer podcasts. Audio from television is an additional resource, and can be formatted for use on various digital platforms. However, if audio is an important component of your interest in languages, electronic devices that support quality text-to-speech (TTS) will likely be appealing. With a library card, TTS technology (in a device that supports the relevant content), and the above mentioned resources (as digital content), an entire language learning system is available for not much more than a cup of coffee! There is no substantial financial outlay to get you started. Furthermore, there are no additional ongoing fees (and updates), and there are no expiry dates on ‘premium’ content and resources. A unique manual to raising a child—for parents everywhere—using the metaphor of dance to provide expert, comforting advice. Having children and raising a family should be the greatest joy in one’s life, but it is a role that requires tremendous responsibility and patience. As parents, our job is to provide a strong foundation for our children, so that they can eventually grow up to become self-sufficient adults. However, just like everything in life, all children are different, some requiring more support than others and to varying degrees over time. Parenting is like a dance between parent and child. The more seamless the movements, the more graceful the interaction. When a parent takes the lead or decides to share, over time with practice, the dance can be smooth and effortless. Nevertheless, when the child is unintentionally allowed to take the lead, the parent-child dance may appear more rocky and unstable. This often occurs when the parent is unclear and at odds with their role. The ensuing battle for the lead may cause disharmony in the relationship and the dance. Parenting is a lifelong commitment that takes patience, thoughtfulness, and skill. The Parent-Child Dance is designed to explain the concept of the dance and act as a catalyst for encouraging parents to begin their journey in making positive changes in their child’s life. Parents will recognize the scenarios and gain insight through humorous examples and step-by-step strategies to avoid disharmony.

"I am in the F.S.P. F.S.P. stands for Field Security Personnel. That is the authorized version." So begins this remarkable account of six months' service with the British Expeditionary Force in France, up to and including the terrible retreat to and evacuation from the beaches of Dunkirk at the end of May, 1940. Absorbing, affecting, thrilling, often funny, this book is very different from other war memoirs. It was the first on-the-ground account of Dunkirk to be published (in 1942) and lacks nothing in the immediacy of its telling. The narrative is gripping and the style is revolutionary, immersing the readers in the emotional and psychological turbulence of the author's experience, and making them feel they are living through it themselves. The result is a stunningly authentic and involving record of one of the defining episodes of twentieth-century British history. Editor N.H. Reeve provides a lucid critical and biographical Afterword, and includes two extracts from an unfinished work by Gwynn-Browne, in which his idiosyncratic stream-of-consciousness style is used to describe the London Blitz and the mood of the civilian population in wartime.

A Dress in a Window is a collection of short stories about love, coincidences, and fate. What the readers are saying: What an enjoyable short story collection! Marie Astor has a real gift for storytelling. This collection has romance, everyday life vignettes and even a sprinkle of magic. An entertaining, fun read. While the subject of the stories varies from romance to everyday life to a bit of satire, I liked the fact that all stories share a hopeful ending, which is something that I found to be uplifting and enjoyable. A wonderful collection of short stories with real characters and substance. I just finished Lucky Charm, a contemporary romance by this author, and thought I'd give her short story collection a try. I loved the characters and the richly plotted stories. I absolutely loved this short story collection: my favorites are A Dress in a Window and A Chance Encounter. If you enjoy love stories, take a chance on A Chance Encounter and Other Stories! This is my second book by Marie Astor. I also read LUCKY CHARM and loved it as well.
