“A Matter of Loyalty” uses historical events from WWI, the Russian Revolution to the outset of WWII as a springboard for action: Chilling theories are presented as fiction regarding the disappearance of the Russian Royal family. Then there is the Non Aggression Pact and Stalin’s strained political relationship with Hitler prior to WWII. The lives of Stalin, Anastasia and a count intermingle against this background. At times the novel’s action focuses on one character more than another for the novel reflects the love of two men for Anastasia. After suffering grief at the loss of her family, Grand Duchess Anastasia Nicholaevna finds the forgiveness that helps her. Her story is one of love and loyalty not just for her husband who helped rescue her from imprisonment but for a world of wilderness and beauty she comes to know outside the one of war and revolution. Her love and loyalty encircle not just family both human and non human but the man who opened freedom’s gate for her.

It’s not easy getting published, but everyone has to do it. Writing for Peer Reviewed Journals presents an insider’s perspective on the secret business of academic publishing, making explicit many of the dilemmas and struggles faced by all writers, but rarely discussed. Its unique approach is theorised and practical. It offers a set of moves for writing a journal article that is structured and doable but also attends to the identity issues that manifest on the page and in the politics of academic life. The book comprehensively assists anyone concerned about getting published; whether they are early in their career or moving from a practice base into higher education, or more experienced but still feeling in need of further information. Avoiding a ‘tips and tricks’ approach, which tends to oversimplify what is at stake in getting published, the authors emphasise the production, nurture and sustainability of scholarship through writing – a focus on both the scholar and the text or what they call text work/identity work. The chapters are ordered to develop a systematic approach to the process, including such topics as: The writer The reader What’s the contribution? Beginning work Refining the argument Engaging with reviewers and editors Writing for Peer Reviewed Journals uses a wide range of multi-disciplinary examples from the writing workshops the authors have run in universities around the world: including the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, South Africa, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and the United States. This international approach coupled with theoretically grounded strategies to guide the authoring process ensure that people at all stages of their career are addressed. This lively book uses a combination of personal stories, student texts, published journal abstracts and excerpts from interviews with journal editors and publishers. Written in an accessible style, one which does not use the patronising ‘you’ of advice books, it offers a collegial approach to a task which is difficult for most scholars, regardless of their years of experience.

In early spring of 1872, Donya Heidsheim stood on the banks of the Weser River looking out at the raging waters. Her father had been brutally murdered, her mother was dead from a broken heart, all she had left was unanswered questions. She would no longer pray to the God her parents taught her to love. In anger she screamed out for revenge. Someone heard her. It appeared. Something gave her peace and a chance for revenge. Something gave her a chance to see her child again. But it all came with a high price tag. The peaceful village of Brunstoke, Germany, surrounded by the beautiful Harz Mountains, was invaded by an ancient sect. A presence as old as the Garden uses the manipulation of lust and avarice to wrap its talons around Brunstokes nobility. Sent from the throne of God, two unlikely companions join forces to work together to combat the curse placed on the Brunstoke familyShomer, a warring angel for the righteous, and Leb, a mystery character fight the forces of the fallen ones who try to destroy Gods seed born of faith through the Lord Jesus Christ.

This book is designed to energetically awaken within the reader the remembrance of our human divinity. In so doing, the wisdom it imparts serves as a reminder that our purpose is not to seek perfection but to realize that we are perfection expressing itself. We then become the divine beings we were intended to be, conscious creators.

On 9th August 2001, twenty-two days after Jeffrey Archer was sentenced to four years in prison for perjury, he was transferred from HMP Belmarsh, a double-A Category high-security prison in south London, to HMP Wayland, a Category C establishment in Norfolk. He served sixty-seven days in Wayland and during that time, as this account testifies, encountered not only the daily degradations of a dangerously over-stretched prison service, but the spirit and courage of his fellow inmates . . . Prison Diary Volume II: Purgatory is an extraordinary work of non-fiction, where Jeffrey Archer reveals what life is like inside the walls of Britain's prisons.

Just before the outbreak of World War II, young Witold Gombrowicz left his home in Poland and set sail for South America. In 1953, still living as an expatriate in Argentina, he began his Diary with one of literature's most memorable openings: "Monday Me. Tuesday Me. Wednesday Me. Thursday Me." Gombrowicz's Diary grew to become a vast collection of essays, short notes, polemics, and confessions on myriad subjects ranging from political events to literature to the certainty of death. Not a traditional journal, Diary is instead the commentary of a brilliant and restless mind. Widely regarded as a masterpiece, this brilliant work compelled Gombrowicz's attention for a decade and a half until he penned his final entry in France, shortly before his death in 1969. Long out of print in English, Diary is now presented in a convenient single volume featuring a new preface by Rita Gombrowicz, the author's widow and literary executor. This edition also includes ten previously unpublished pages from the 1969 portion of the diary.
