DON WINSLOW OF THE NAVY was a veteran of both World Wars, and a member of Naval Intelligence. He investigated wrong-doings and battled against villains who would threaten the United States and her dominance on the high seas. DON WINSLOW was the brainchild of Lieutenant Commander Frank V. Martinek USNR and the character was originally conceived as a method of promoting recruitment to the navy. It began as a newspaper strip in the 1930s, and was also a radio program. The comic book series reprinted newspaper strips for a time, before offering original DON WINSLOW stories beginning in 1943. This book contains all the stories from Don Winslow of the Navy #52-69 - the final issues from Fawcett (October 1948 - September 1951) plus the Charlton reprint series #70-73 (1955).
