As any scientific theory, it is a symbolic model. Any symbolic model is based on a limited number of basic terms and a limited number of basic relations between the basic terms. For the basic terms and only for them, there are accepted descriptive definitions. All the others terms are generated by the model, together with their normal definitions. These definitions are generated by the model by logical and mathematical procedures. These are the basic characteristics of any scientific theory and so, I follow the procedures described above, to make a theory on the basic hardware functions of the brain. This theory is in a total opposition with all the actual sciences associated with the functions of the brain. The present sciences, associated with the functions of the brain, are not based on a single fundamental model. In this way, as my theory will be accepted, all what it was already written in the actual sciences associated with the functions of the brain, have to be re-written or forgotten.

A powerful guide to building a data-centric corporate culture that unleashes talent and improves engagement Amazon delights customers with recommendations that are spot on. Google amazes us by generating answers before we've even finished asking a question. These companies know who we are and what we want. The key to their magic is Big Data. Personalizing the consumer experience with the collection and analysis of consumer data is widely recognized as one of the biggest business opportunities of the 21st century. But there is a flip side to this that has largely been missed. What if we were able to use data about employees to personalize and customize their experience - to increase their engagement, help them learn faster on the job, and figure out which teams they should be on? In this book, Leerom and his colleagues outline the six principles they've used to decode work and unlock the maximum potential of their talent, and share success stories from other organizations that have embraced this approach. The Decoded Company is an actionable blueprint for any company that wants the best from its people, and isn't afraid of radical approaches to get it. Leerom Segal is the president and CEO of Klick and has been named "Entrepreneur of the Year" by the Business Development Bank of Canada, won the "Young Entrepreneur of the Year" award from Ernst and Young, and was named to Profit Magazine's Hall of Fame as the youngest CEO ever to lead a nonprofit company. Brings together the output of a forty-year collaborative research project that unpicked and put into practice the fine details of John Harrison's extraordinary pendulum clock system. Harrison predicted that his unique method of making pendulum clocks could provide as much as one-hundred-times the stability of those made by his contemporaries. However, his final publication, which promised to describe the system, was a chaotic jumble of information, much of which had nothing to do with clockwork. One contemporary reviewer of Harrison's book could only suggest that the end result was a product of Harrison's 'superannuated dotage.' The focus of this book centres on the making, adjusting, and testing of Clock B which was the subject of various trials at the Royal Observatory, Greenwich. The modern history of Clock B is accompanied by scientific analysis of the clock system, Clock B's performance, the methods of data-gathering alongside historical perspectives on Harrison's clockmaking, that of his contemporaries, and some evaluation of the possible influence of early 18th century scientific thought.

'Truth is stranger than fiction, ' they say. If so, the true story of Jesus of Nazareth must be the strangest story of all. When first told, it set the world on fire. Those caught with it were fed to lions. Rulers said it 'turned the world upside down.' This first historical translation of Luke reveals that human story. It unfolds what the original is really saying. All of us may side with this man. Forget anything you know about him. Read this as you would the story of any other human. You may be amazed at what you find out.

The Book of Revelation DECODED will challenge the most popular end-time prophecy doctrines of the day with a fresh look at what the Bible and Spirit of YHVH teaches. What makes The Book of Revelation DECODED uniquely different from all other commentaries and studies of the Revelation of Jesus Christ are three of the most important interpretive points of the Revelation: five distinctive subject divisions in its outline, five views of the resurrection focusing on the five aspects of resurrection (rapture), and four subject divisions of the scroll with seven seals clearly eliminating five of the seals as the Tribulation period of Daniel's seventy-sevens of years.Paying close attention to context and Biblical purpose, author, Mary Lewis, integrates over 450 Scripture quotes from 47 books of the Bible into her insightful narration providing definitive Bible answers. For added visual understanding, Ms. Lewis uses twenty-three tables and images graphically depicting many prophetic symbols and word imagery, such as God's Hebrew personal name, YHVH, and the entirety of Daniel's prophecy of seventy-sevens of weeks. The Book of Revelation DECODED reveals fresh and understandable Biblical answers to the most difficult prophecy questions: Who are the 144,000? Will the church go through the tribulation period? What nation will produce the antichrist of the tribulation period? What do the seven seals of Revelation's seven sealed scroll mean? Do the seven seals represent the last seven years of Daniel's prophecy of seventy-sevens of weeks? Is the "rapture" teaching true or false? What are the seven heads and ten horns on the dragon? Is there a literal 1000 years between Armageddon and Judgment? When is the war of Gog/Magog?

"To be one, whole in the face of life, is all that matters. So long as I remain conscious of this, I feel a life within me and a peace that nothing else can give." The words are Madame de Salzmann's, from the final page of her book The Reality of Being. I read them and feel good. For a moment I experience "the peace that passeth understanding." At that same moment I realize my incapacity and my non-comprehension and I feel bad. Stabbed in the heart by "the sword of gnosis" I want to run away, fall back into complacency. I see how I am, divided. Do I care? So long as I remain trapped in passivity, nothing new can appear: no Newness, no New Man, no New World. Do I really wish to explore the Unknown? Or am I only an armchair adventurer, a dreamer vicariously gaining the experience from another's travels? How can I know myself? My journey to inaccessible places begins with seeing that I am two: I wish, I do not wish. The act of seeing itself is the appearance of I." Not the ordinary "I" that is deeply afraid and wishes only for security, but the real "I," pure, uncontaminated by fear, grounded in love. "Without it I will never know what is true, never enter a world entirely new." Her words convey deep meaning, far deeper than we ordinarily realize. To discover the New World requires knowing how to measure. Without the science of measures I cannot go far. "It is my measure, the measure both of my capacity and of the quality of my moment of work." Knowing the code of measures, I can decipher the reality of who I am. This book provides the keys to the code.

Gravity is a mystery. Objects fall to the ground as if pulled by an unseen hand. Galileo was the first person to discover how falling works, but failed to ask why. Kepler deciphered the laws of planetary motion but missed the meaning of his own discoveries. Newton ignited the Enlightenment when he found the connection between matter and gravity, and gave us the tools to measure orbital mechanics. But Newton was disappointed with his own discoveries because the source of gravity lay hidden from him. Einstein discovered the connection between space and matter but his own equations masked the real source of gravity. He failed to understand that space is more than geometry. This book explores the energy of space and discovers that its structure completely defines gravity. Using simple mathematics and the achievements of Galileo, Kepler, Newton, and Einstein, the author constructs a new law of gravity that is defined by the size of the universe and its matter-energy content. Gone is Newton's awkward, arbitrary constant and Einstein's dependence on it. The force of gravity becomes the tendency for the Universe to reach perfect symmetry of space-energy. The Universe is self-regulating with its space-tension exactly balanced by its matter-energy. The Universe consists of only space-energy and the matter-energy that was derived from it. With space-energy revealed as the source of gravity, the author looks into the meaning of anti-gravity, and how we might achieve it.

We are entering an empathy crisis. Most of our communication is conveyed through non-verbal cues - facial expressions, tone of voice, body language - nuances that are completely lost when we interact through our smartphones and other technology. The result is a digital universe that's emotion-blind - a society lacking in empathy. Rana al Kaloubi discovered this when she left Cairo, a newly-married, Muslim woman, to take up her place at Cambridge University to study computer science. Many thousands of miles from home, she began to develop systems to help her better connect with her family. She started to pioneer the new field of Emotional Intelligence (EI). She now runs her company, Affectiva (the industry-leader in this emerging field) that builds EI into our technology and develops systems that understand humans the way we understand one another. In a captivating memoir, Girl Decoded chronicles el Kaliouby's mission to humanise technology and what she learns about humanity along the way.

SUPERANNO This masterpiece takes its reader from Hip Hop's ancient origin to its modern day Matrix. Never before has a book been written about Hip Hop through the spiritual scope of the culture, or has examined the culture from a mystical perspective. The Black Dot cleverly accomplishes both, while providing plenty of fuel for a conspiracy theorist. Hip Hop Decoded reveals that Hip Hop is far deeper than just beats and rhymes, and masterfully illustrates that each element of Hip Hop (Graffiti, DJ, Emcee, and B-Boy) has an ancient origin (hieroglyphics, drummer, oracle, and dancer), as well as spiritual significance (earth, air, fire, and water).
