Bestselling author Jim Benton is back, continuing a new spin on a favorite series! Dear Dumb Diary, Just when I was pretty sure we could let the Student Awareness Committee quietly die a dignified death like some majestic old elephant or the Square Dancing Club, Angeline has to be aware of something. Great. And, of course, it couldn't be something interesting like nail polish or why maybe there should be a special class in nail polish and how to get it out of your beagle's ear. (Mom, if you're reading this, I'm not admitting anything. Somebody else could have painted a heart in his ear.) Angeline just had to be aware of one of those THINGS THAT ADULTS LIKE.

The hilarious and bestselling series from Jim Benton continues! Jamie, Isabella, and Angeline have known each other for a long time. They've even become friends -- whether Jamie likes it or not. But when the trio starts a friendly competition, all bets are off. The loser will be treated to a game of Dare or Worse Dare... with Isabella. (And Jamie's pretty sure that's like having a banana-peeling contest with a starving monkey. The monkey always wins.) What could go wrong? Probably everything. And it's probably all that blondwad Angeline's fault. Probably. Jamie still has no idea that anyone is reading her diary, so please, please, please don't tell her. And definitely don't tell her that she's the star of her very own Dear Dumb Diary movie, available on DVD. (Her glamorous ego might not be able to handle it.) ----------- EXCERPT: Dear Dumb Diary, Isabella and I had one of those days where you spend four hours trying to come up with something to do, and then by the time you do, there’s no time to do it so you just watch TV in positions that make it look like maybe you were born without bones. We do this about twelve times a month. "Since we're not doing anything, we should practice debate," I said. "No, we shouldn't," Isabella said. "We just did," I said.

And definitely don't tell her that she's the star of her very own Dear Dumb Diary movie, available on DVD. (Her glamorous ego might not be able to handle it.)

Do NOT read Jamie Kelly's top-secret diaries! "Sometimes it amazes me how ingenious I am about everything." --Jamie Kelly We've been with Jamie Kelly through her search for inner beauty, poofy bridesmaid dresses, and desperate attempts to make money during summer vacation. Along the way, she's left us with countless gems of wisdom, such as: "If somebody ever asks you to kick her in the face, the first thing she will do is forget that she asked you to do it," and "As long as you keep laughing at how dumb something is, you can secretly enjoy it without risking your cool." Now Jamie's upcoming diaries have a fresh look and a fun twist. It's Dear Dumb Diary: Year Two! The diary entries are still laugh-out-loud funny -- but this is a whole new beginning. Everything is another year dumber! (But Jamie STILL has no idea that anybody is reading her diary. So please, please, please don't tell her.)

New York Times Bestselling author Jamie Kelly is back with another hilarious, candid, and sometimes not-so-nice diary! Dear Dumb Diary, I went back and read some of my very oldest diaries. The entries say things like "I eated salad dressing" and "I got a Barbie shoe stuck in Stinker's nose again" and "The vet was mean to me about the Barbie shoe so I tried to bite him but vets are quick at not getting bit because dogs try all the time but dogs don't usually kick so I did that." What amazed me was just how dumb I used to be, considering how smart I am now. There must have been a day when I just woke up smart.

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • The twentieth anniversary edition of the classic story of an incredible group of students and the teacher who inspired them, featuring updates on the students’ lives, new journal entries, and an introduction by Erin Gruwell Now a public television documentary, Freedom Writers: Stories from the Heart In 1994, an idealistic first-year teacher in Long Beach, California, named Erin Gruwell confronted a room of “unteachable, at-risk” students. She had intercepted a note with an ugly racial caricature and angrily declared that this was precisely the sort of thing that led to the Holocaust. She was met by uncomprehending looks—none of her students had heard of one of the defining moments of the twentieth century. So she rebooted her entire curriculum, using treasured books such as Anne Frank’s diary as her guide to combat intolerance and misunderstanding. Her students began recording their thoughts and feelings in their own diaries, eventually dubbing themselves the “Freedom Writers.” Consisting of powerful entries from the students’ diaries and narrative text by Erin Gruwell, The Freedom Writers Diary is an unforgettable story of how hard work, courage, and determination changed the lives of a teacher and her students. In the two decades since its original publication, the book has sold more than one million copies and inspired a major motion picture Freedom Writers. And now, with this twentieth-anniversary edition, readers are brought up to date on the lives of the Freedom Writers, as they blend indispensable takes on social issues with uplifting stories of attending college—and watch their own children follow in their footsteps. The Freedom Writers Diary remains a vital read for anyone who believes in second chances.

Diary for a Daughter

Diary for a Daughter is a personal account of how having a daughter changes one woman's life. It is the story of one woman's experience of herself during these changes and traces her journey toward increasing psychological and emotional wholeness and happiness. The birth of the daughter coincides with the family's move to a new house and the mother's concerns about her own ability to make a home for her family in a tract house in a development. Three weeks before her daughter is born she and her husband move into the new house. She has had strong misgivings about the tract house in a development because it symbolizes what she hates in American life. The happiness she feels she attributes to pregnancy euphoria and after the birth she explores her feelings about the house. She comes to understand that one does not find the house of one's dreams, one creates it. She discovers that she is in the very situation she has avoided all her life, and realizes that the painful feelings associated with her mother, her early experiences of home, hearth, and domesticity are the issues she must face rather than the issue of living in a suburban tract house versus living in the city. She tries to deal with her fears, anxiety, and inner demons and decides that when she was single she needed the city for survival. To avoid regrets and resentment, she and her husband gradually work through questions of power, sex, and money. She experiences a sense of psychic victory and knows that she not only has a right to be happy, she has a right to be angry. She then attempts to create a happy, interesting emotional experience for her family four. The point or purpose of the work is to both present a unique personal account of individual growth as well as to present those aspects of a major experience which are universal. What is valuable and interesting about this journey is that it is told from the woman's point of view and the woman's experience through diary or journal format.

This set includes Lies Women Believe and the Lies Women Believe Companion Guide. In Lies Women Believe, bestselling author Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth exposes those areas of deception most commonly believed by Christian women—lies about God, sin, priorities, marriage and family, emotions, and more. She then sheds light on how we can be delivered from bondage and set free to walk in God's grace, forgiveness, and abundant life. "Many women live under a cloud of personal guilt and condemnation," says DeMoss. "Many are in bondage to their past. Others are gripped by fear of rejection and a longing for approval. Still others are emotional prisoners." Satan is the master deceiver and his lies are endless. And the lies Christian women believe are at the root of most of their struggles. In the Lies Women Believe Companion Guide, DeMoss divides the study into ten sessions for individuals or small groups. Each chapter includes the following features: In a Nutshell: Gives you an overview of the chapter to be studied from Lies Women Believe and reminds you of the lies discussed within that chapter. Exploring the Truth: Offers a daily personal study for you to complete during the course of the week between your small group meetings. Each day's study includes a few pages to read from Lies Women Believe and then questions to answer under the subtitles "Realize," "Reflect," and "Respond." Walking Together in the Truth: Provides questions to be discussed when your small group meets. Now there is a resource that will help you go deeper with the truths from DeMoss's best-selling book Lies Women Believe. These penetrating questions will make you and your friends think and wrestle with the Truth as you search the Bible for answers to tough issues. Truth is not just something to know but something to live out in the laboratory of life as you apply the Word to real-life situations. The Companion Guide for Lies Women Believe is ideal for small groups, Bible Studies, and Sunday school classes.

Maybe. After all, becoming a maid is definitely not going to help her already loserish reputation. But Rachel picks up more than smelly socks on the job. As maid to some of the most popular kids in school, Rachel suddenly has all the dirt on the 8th grade in-crowd. Her formerly boring diary is now filled with juicy secrets.
