The photographs that Chris Killip made in Northern England between 1973 and 1985 were first published by Secker & Warburg in the book In Flagrante in 1988. The new oversized Steidl edition is a radically updated presentation, showing a single image on the right side of each double-page spread. In Flagrante Two is strident in its belief in the primacy of the photograph, embracing ambiguities and contradictions in an 0unadorned narrative sequence devoid of text.

- An objective exploration of an often-maligned community that exists on the fringes of societyIn Ireland, around 25,000 people still live in temporary settlements in the style of itinerant workers, far removed from the amenities of Western civilization. Moving from place to place in mobile homes without electricity or running water, the largest Catholic minority of the country are faced with many prejudices. Strangely out of step with 21st-century lifestyle, they stick to their seemingly outdated traditions while also trying to find a new identity that fits in with modern society. Even in the present day, this ambiguity continues to define life for the traveller community, whose livelihood depends on horse breeding and hunting and who keep their own language alive as part of their insular culture. In 2011, the photographer Birte Kaufmann cautiously began to make contact with the travelling community, earning their trust and on some occasions living with them. For her portrayal of this unknown world, she needed to be in close contact with the families in order to capture their particular character and to avoid the usual stereotypes. Without a doubt, Birte Kaufmann's combination of reportage and documentary photography hits the right note and offers impressive insights into the Irish travellers' extraordinary world.

Chris Killip, born in 1946 on the Isle of Man, is one of the most influential photographers and teachers to have come out of the United Kingdom. His work in the late 1970s and 1980s defined an era; it has received numerous prizes and is included in most major museum collections. Of The Pirelli Photographs, taken at the famous tire manufacturer's plant, he says, "I wanted to show the manufacturing process as clearly as I could, and to do so in this factory meant it would have to be lit... The workplace had become, in a real sense for me, a theater and I embraced the look of these new photographs with their relation to fashion, film noir, and even Soviet Realism. For me this Îlook' seemed a more telling way to record and document this enforced ritual."

Here Comes Everybody is a phrase that echoes repeatedly through the shifting dream-narrative of James Joyces FinnegansWake. It aptly captures the intense poetry of this new collection of photographs by Chris Killip, taken over repeated trips to Ireland between 1993 and 2005. On each visit Killip attended the annual pilgrimages at Croagh Patrick and Máméan in the west of Ireland, places of wild beauty and ancient spirituality. His poignant photographs convey the dedication and community of the modern pilgrims journey as they make their way across shingled mountainsides to take part in age-old rites. Images of the pilgrims trek are complemented by landscapes, townscapes and details photographed in the west of Ireland and beyond. Presented as a facsimile of an album of prints from a decade of travels, this book includes the first colour photographs Killip has ever published. This Limited edition features hand-tipped reproductions and a signed and numbered print.
