Imagine if The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy were a real, practical book about the mysteries of the universe...The Universe In Your Hand takes us on a wonder-filled journey to the surface of our dying Sun, shrinks us to the size of an atom and puts us in the deathly grip of distant Black Holes. Along the way you might come to understand, really understand, the mind-bending science that underpins modern life, from Quantum Mechanics to Einstein's theory of General Relativity.Through brilliant storytelling and humour rather than graphs and equations, internationally renowned astrophysicist Christophe Galfard has written an instant classic that brings the astonishing beauty of the universe to life - and takes us deep into questions about the beginning of time and the future of humanity.

And this is just the beginning. In this book, Tony Hey and Gyuri Pápay lead us on a journey from the early days of computers in the 1930s to the cutting-edge research of the present day that will shape computing in the coming decades. Along the way, they explain the ideas behind hardware, software, algorithms, Moore's Law, the birth of the personal computer, the Internet and the Web, the Turing Test, Jeopardy's Watson, World of Warcraft, spyware, Google, Facebook and quantum computing. This book also introduces the fascinating cast of dreamers and inventors who brought these great technological developments into every corner of the modern world. An awe-inspiring, unforgettable journey of scientific exploration from Brian Cox and Jeff Forshaw, the top ten bestselling authors of The Quantum Universe. We dare to imagine a time before the Big Bang, when the entire Universe was compressed into a space smaller than an atom. And now, as Brian Cox and Jeff Forshaw show, we can do more than imagine: we can understand. Over the centuries, the human urge to discover has unlocked an incredible amount of knowledge. What it reveals to us is breathtaking. Universal takes us on an epic journey of scientific exploration and, in doing so, reveals how we can all understand some of the most fundamental questions about our Earth, Sun, Solar System and the star-filled galaxies beyond. Some of these questions - How big is our solar system? How fast is space expanding? - can be answered from your back garden; the answers to others - How big is the Universe? What is it made of? - draw on the astonishing information now being gathered by teams of astronomers operating at the frontiers of the known universe. At the heart of all these questions - from the earliest attempts to quantify gravity, to our efforts to understand what dark matter is and what really happened at the birth of our universe - is the scientific process. Science reveals a deeper beauty, connects us to each other, to our world, and to our Universe; and, by understanding the groundbreaking work of others, reaches out into the unknown. What's more, as Universal shows us, if we dare to imagine, we can all do it.

There's a whole universe out there... Imagine you had a spacecraft capable of travelling through interstellar space. You climb in, blast into orbit, fly out of the solar system and keep going. Where do you end up, and what do you see along the way? The answer is: mostly nothing. Space is astonishingly, mind-blowingly empty. As you travel through the void between galaxies your spaceship encounters nothing more exciting than the odd hydrogen molecule. But when it does come across something more exotic: wow! First and most obviously, stars and planets. Some are familiar from our own backyard: yellow suns, rocky planets like Mars, gas and ice giants like Jupiter and Neptune. But there are many more: giant stars, red and white dwarfs, super-earths and hot Jupiters. Elsewhere are swirling clouds of dust giving birth to stars, and infinitely dense regions of space-time called black holes. These clump together in the star clusters we call galaxies, and the clusters of galaxies we call... galaxy clusters. And that is just the start. As we travel further we encounter ever more weird, wonderful and dangerous entities: supernovas, supermassive black holes, quasars, pulsars, neutron stars, black dwarfs, quark stars, gamma ray bursts and cosmic strings. A Journey Through The Universe is a grand tour of the most amazing celestial objects and how they fit together to build the cosmos. As for the end of the journey - nobody knows. But getting there will be fun.

The Journey Through The Cosmos is the first entry in the Little Blue Book Series and comprises of the first three discourses of the Monodoxy, which is itself the first disquisition of the founding book of Astronism which is titled the Omnidoxy. The Journey Through The Cosmos introduces readers to the mind of cosmic heights of Cometan, as the organised philosophy’s founder, and acts as the first instance of cosmic philosophy, or cosmontology. The Journey Through The Cosmos is the title for the second discourse of the Monodoxy following the Compendological Introduction discourse and preceding the Functionalities of Progeny & Phenomena discourse. As the title suggests, Cometan takes you on a journey through his conception of the universe which he titles The Cosmos as a whole animate entity with a spiritual aspect and an aspect of destiny, both of which are only later explored as part of Astronist beliefs. The Journey Through The Cosmos book serves two purposes. Not only does it introduce the world to Cometan, his writings in the Omnidoxy, and his philosophy of Astronism, but in the context of its publication as a book, The Journey Through The Cosmos introduces the Little Blue Book Series. The Little Blue Book Series was created and first published by Cometan himself as a way to simplify and commercialise the immensity of the two million word length of the Omnidoxy into smaller, more bite-size publications. A successful from its very first published entry, the Little Blue Book Series has gone on to become a symbol of Astronist commercial literature and way for Cometan’s words to reach readers of all ages and abilities who remain daunted by the beauty and yet the sheer extensiveness of the Omnidoxy as the longest religious text in history.

"In a brilliant flash about fourteen billion years ago, time and matter were born in a single instant of creation. An immensely hot and dense universe began its rapid expansion everywhere, creating space where there was no space and time where there was no time. In the intense fire just after the beginning, the lightest elements were forged, later to form primordial clouds that eventually evolved into galaxies, stars, and planets. This evolution is the story told in this fascinating book. Interwoven withthe storyline are short pieces on the pioneering men and women who revealed those wonders to us."--BOOK JACKET.

Albert’s Journey into the Universe explores our garden universe in a playful manner that is fun for children of all ages. The story includes many of the elements that make for imaginative learning. The story takes the reader to places that we are not capable of going with our normal perspective paradigm but they are places also within our realm of possible evolution. Change your paradigm, change your reality. Meet critters that can communicate with man, go to the far reaches if the universe, travel around the world in a day, visit inner Earth, vision what our imagination can achieve, navigate through the micro and the macro universe, take inner journeys that lead you to source then go on a vision journey of your own. Envision a world where mankind is learning how to steward our spaceship Earth as well as our physical space suit that we are provided with from birth till death. Take a comical look at the possible blockages that keep us from achieving our full potential as a galactic species on a path towards source. Take a moment to imagine where mankind is destined to go ‘giving divine blessing from within’ (our consent), from our connection with source. It is up to us. No one can do this for us; no government, no religion, no parent figure, no space aliens not even our ascended masters can make it happen. Yep; it is up to us. We may as well have fun making the desired changes, so have as much fun reading and imagining as you can.
