“The Book of Revelation: A New Beginning” contains the hidden secrets of Saint John’s Revelation, and as you know, it is one of the most debated and most difficult books of all the scriptures to read and understand because of the extreme symbolism tied to it. Man has always assumed the word of God’s prophets and their stories were indisputable just because of their eminence in interpreted them as being true. Man has forgotten the history of himself, Earth, God, the origin of the universe, and how the scriptures have been documented, interpreted, and strictly passed down by our ancestors and religious leaders. As symbolic as Revelation is it has nothing to do with the end days or even about a solitary Anti-Christ as we understand it nor is it about Jesus coming to save you. In truth, Saint John’s Revelation is your own guide showing you that you no longer need to look at yourself as a sinner because you have bared your cross, like Jesus, and now the time has come for you to ascend to a higher state of Mind. The book of Revelation: “A New Beginning” is a book that will help open the gates of your soul memories so you can become aware of your own divineness, and that you are a God too. My fellow Gods, what is coming to an end is the old ways of perceiving and understanding God. It is not that God is a mystery. It is you that is the mystery, and when fear is resolved within, you are then ready to open up to the hidden secrets behind the Book of Revelation that religions have kept as a secret for thousands of years, either on purpose or because of ignorance.

A Biblical Tour of our Past Present and Future Have you ever thought about the big picture of life regarding origins, conflicts, and destiny? How does it all fit together? What is it all about? Can we truly understand the historical treasure map found in Genesis 1 through Revelation 22? This book brings into harmony the practical truths and Biblical truths in order to dispel dangerous deceptions and distortions. By connecting the dots of truth and pulling back the veil of mystery and confusion in this extraordinary puzzle we call life, the portrait of reality is revealed. We can discover our purpose and potential to fulfill our destiny. Revealed are opportunities to realize and apply transforming information essential to making wise decisions. You will be empowered with keys to unlock your personal success and endless treasures. I think you will find this book enlightening, thought provoking, and well documented in the authority of scripture. The truth revealed in the coming pages is the result of many questions I had years ago. Finding there were no common or consistent answers to them, I went to my Creator, the source of truth. In God’s word, I have found many amazing and consistent insights that have stood the test of time. Over the years, I have found these answers and insights have not only given me peace of mind, but have also enabled me to see many miraculous things. I believe the information contained in this book will be interesting, relevant, and useful to at least four types of people. To the Skeptic: The honest doubter can see how the Bible has logical and reasonable answers to the problems in our world. It reveals the causes and effects we see all around us, as well as the reasonable conclusions, we often don’t see in time. (Galatians 6:7) To the Truth Seeker: You may be looking at all the different religions of the world with their isolated and disconnected ideas that promote contradictions. It is important to know how to test them to find out if they have true lasting treasure or are just an illusion that temporarily makes you feel good. (John 8:32) To the Believer: It gives a foundation for our belief, connecting the facts between the origins of Genesis 1 to the destiny of Revelation 22. By examining the details and illustrating the sequences of events, we can see and understand how redemption works, as well as the many benefits available. (Acts 1:8) To the Spiritual Leader: It encourages and challenges us with truth, exposing the Deceivers’ strategy. It gives Biblical insight to the mysteries and questions of life. It helps us to envision our future rewards, reflect on our present position, and take a closer look at our past traditions and assumptions in the light of our ultimate authority, the Word of God. (Romans 16:24-27)

A Revelation of Jesus Christ

From the Introduction by Merrill C. Tenney: This commentary is an attempt to make plain the meaning of Revelation. With commendable reserve, Dr. Smith has restricted himself largely to interpretation by other passages of Scripture which are related to Revelation by actual quotation or by striking parallelism. His painstaking studies of vocabulary and of related ideas make the book valuable to the earnest student of the Bible. Dr. Smith is a futurist and a premillenarian, holding that all of the Book of Revelation beginning with the fourth chapter relates to the future period of judgment known as 'the great tribulation,' which will be followed by the personal return of Christ and by the establishment of His kingdom. In this regard he is in a long line of renowned commentators, including Seiss, Gaebelein, Ottman, and others. The distinguishing feature of this commentary is its use of Biblical statistics and comparisons. The uses of important terms in the Revelation are cataloged, and their interpretation is derived from their context. The appendices contain some extensive studies of individual topics, correlating information not easily obtainable elsewhere. Dr. Smith follows a literal interpretation except where avowed symbolism demands a different procedure. He has sought to make his exposition consistent in method and in results. His use of Greek is apt, and shows a careful investigation of the underlying vocabulary of the Greek text. This commentary will probably be the mainstay of premillennial exposition for some years to come.

The end of the world is coming. From roadside signs to science fiction films, this slogan underscores our society’s nervous fascination with the future. Whether it’s a giant asteroid, a worldwide plague, or some other global catastrophe, the end of the world is a terrifying prospect—at least for those who have no idea what it will be like. For Christians, however, the end of the world should be anything but dreadful. In fact, it should be something we actually look forward to. Why? Because God has told us how the world will end. And He has assured us that the end of this age will mark the beginning of a new, glorious one in which we will serve and worship Him in sinless perfection. Our eternal hope, as believers, is intimately tied to the end of this world. All of this is laid out in the book of Revelation. Not only is Revelation the inspired Word of God, it is also the only New Testament book that includes a promised spiritual blessing for those who study and apply its message. As such, it is an essential part of every Christian’s devotional life. Those who ignore Revelation deprive themselves of a rich treasure of divine truth, and the promised blessings that come from understanding that truth. Join John MacArthur as he explains the book of Revelation in a way that is both doctrinally precise and intensely practical.

As her journey progressed, God and his angels taught Laura the secrets to the Book of Revelation. They revealed that this sacred Scripture is not a book of doom and gloom, but simply describes in symbolic language the stages of metamorphosis that will occur on the planet as the souls of humanity are aligned with the divine spirit. Laura's own metamorphosis led her into the arms of true love as she and her soul mate were united. She reveals how the forces of the Holy Trinity become active in two souls as they become bonded by Divine Love. Laura has recorded her journey and the messages that the Divine Spirit imparted to her in the hopes that they will inspire others to search for truth and love in their own lives.

Reclaiming the Book of Revelation

Progressive Christians have largely resisted studying the book of Revelation, but "Reclaiming the Book of Revelation" shows that the last book of the Bible has great relevance for progressive Christians and congregations in this world. It addresses themes such as how to avoid being drawn into the values of a consumerist society, how to describe our fears instead of fleeing from them, and how to live with hope in difficult times. Because Revelation has been claimed by the -religious right- and proponents of rapture theology, Wilfried E. Glabach addresses the need for more progressive Christians to give another interpretation of the book. "Reclaiming the Book of Revelation" offers an interpretation that stresses God's forgiveness and the -healing of the nations- rather than the destruction of many and the redemption of a few. Dr. Glabach motivates and encourages preachers, teachers, and lay readers to explore Revelation's vision of assurance, justice, and peace."

This in-depth treatise presents conclusive evidence for an extremely close relationship between ancient Egyptian religious beliefs and the Book of Revelation. Practically all characters, scenes and series of scenes found in Revelation have parallels in mainstream Egyptian sources, including the Book of the Dead, the Amduat, Book of Gates, Book of Aker, Books of the Heavens and others. Parallel characters include Egypt's Apophis as Revelation's Satan while situations and activities in scenes include the judgment scene and singers by a lake of fire. Parallel sequences of scenes include those found in the 2nd to 12th Divisions of the Book of Gates and most of Revelation's Chapters 15-21. Allusions to the Book of Dead are common. Finally, a key conclusion: the entire structure of the Book of Revelation can be accounted for in the organization of text and paintings on the walls and ceilings of the tomb of Ramesses VI in Egypt's Valley of the Kings. Noir Urbanisms

Dystopic Images of the Modern City

Author: Gyan Prakash

Dystopic imagery has figured prominently in modern depictions of the urban landscape. The city is often portrayed as a terrifying world of darkness, crisis, and catastrophe. Noir Urbanisms traces the history of the modern city through its critical representations in art, cinema, print journalism, literature, sociology, and architecture. It focuses on visual forms of dystopic representation--because the history of the modern city is inseparable from the production and circulation of images--and examines their strengths and limits as urban criticism. Contributors explore dystopic images of the modern city in Germany, Mexico, Japan, India, South Africa, China, and the United States. Their topics include Weimar representations of urban dystopia in Fritz Lang's 1927 film Metropolis; 1960s modernist architecture in Mexico City; Hollywood film noir of the 1940s and 1950s; the recurring fictional destruction of Tokyo in postwar Japan's sci-fi doom culture; the urban fringe in Bombay cinema; fictional explorations of urban dystopia in postapartheid Johannesburg; and Delhi's out-of-control and media-saturated urbanism in the 1980s and 1990s. What emerges in Noir Urbanisms is the unsettling and disorienting alchemy between dark representations and the modern urban experience. In addition to the editor, the contributors are David R. Ambaras, James Donald, Rubén Gallo, Anton Kaes, Ranjani Mazumdar, Jennifer Robinson, Mark Shiel, Ravi Sundaram, William M. Tsutsui, and Li Zhang.

From the temple of God to God as the temple

a biblical theological study of the temple in the book of Revelation

The term naos is found thirteen times in the Apocalypse, indicating the significant place it occupies within the book. To date, no complete study of the theme of the temple in this Book exists. Taking into consideration the scholarly contributions that have been made by those studying the book or the theme of the temple in the New Testament, the present work proposes an analysis of the verses containing the term naos in view of establishing John the Seer's use of temple imagery to speak of the Church. The study concludes by presenting the temple theology of the Book of Revelation including a comparison with the texts of the Old Testament, Jewish intertestamental literature and the New Testament with particular regard to the Fourth Gospel. Andrea Spatafora, 1958, made profession in the Congregation of the Missionaries of the Holy Family and was ordained a priest in 1983. Completing a licentiate in Sacred Scripture at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in 1992, he obtained a doctorate in Biblical Theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in 1997.

David Hope is the leader of the Catholic wing of the Church of England. He is the son of a builder from Wakefield, Yorkshire who was appointed to the highest office in the Church of England because of his profound spiritual authority ( he is a man of great personal holiness) and because of his practical commonsense approach to day-to-day problems in the Church. Underneath the charm, the humour and the holiness is a very tough down-to-earth Yorkshireman. These great qualities are exemplified in this new collection of Hope`s sermons and addresses. Whether he is addressing the congregation of a fashionable Episcopal Church in New York, or a conference of tough-minded business men at the Institute of Management his ability to touch the hearts and minds of his audience is outstanding. `Within the space of one week`, writes David Hope `I can find myself at the Great Yorkshire Show, at the York Races, addressing a group of business executives on the subject of business ethics, presenting awards to apprentices on an engineering course and visiting the classes in a primary school in a deprived urban area`. It is the application of the Catholic gospel to such a variety of circumstances and people`s lives that has made David Hope the outstanding Christian leader that he is. At all times, he points the way to existential openness and to transcendence. His qualities are evident for all to read in this compelling new book.

This commentary series is established on the presupposition that the theological character of the New Testament documents calls for exegesis that is sensitive to theological themes as well as to the details of the historical, linguistic, and textual context. Such thorough exegetical work lies at the heart of these volumes, which contain detailed verse-by-verse commentary preceded by general comments on each section and subsection of the text. An important aim of the NIGTC authors is to interact with the wealth of significant New Testament research published in recent articles and monographs. In this connection the authors make their own scholarly contributions to the ongoing study of the biblical text. The text on which these commentaries are based is the UBS Greek New Testament, edited by Kurt Aland and others. While engaging the major questions of text and interpretation at a scholarly level, the authors keep in mind the needs of the beginning student of Greek as well as the pastor or layperson who may have studied the language at some time but does not now use it on a regular basis.
